In crisis? NHS Mental Health Services: 01924 316830 (open 24hrs)
Counselling is a type of talking therapy that aims to help you deal with issues that may be causing emotional pain or getting in the way of daily life. Counselling can be helpful for feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, trauma or any issue you feel ready to talk about.
A counsellor will not give advice. They are trained to help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you may have and to support you and respect your views as you work through them.
Anyone who needs help or support can refer themselves to us.
The services we provide are open to all over the age of 14, regardless of race, gender, faith, disability or sexuality.
The first thing to do is contact our office by telephone or email. If we are unable to take your call, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Alternatively, you can complete our enquiry form and we will be in touch.
Once we have completed your referral, you will be added to our waiting list and when a counselling slot becomes available we will invite you for an initial assessment. If it agreed that talking therapy is appropriate, you will then be allocated a counsellor and offered an initial six sessions of counselling, attending weekly, however this can be extended.
At The Turning Point Counselling Service, Brighouse we view safeguarding as a priority. All our qualified counsellors are registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and our counsellors in training are student members.
